Thapa / Dhampus Peak and around Dhaulagiri, one of the least trekked and climbed region and its slowly getting popular due to its tough trekking but accessibility from Baglung and Beni and from Mustang area of Marpha village and then concluding at picturesque touristic city at Pokhara the trek is moderate with a classic adventure climb of Thapa / Dhampus Peak an adventurous, where all keen trekkers and climbers can join in this wonderful walking journey and the time duration taking just over two weeks in the comfort of camping facilities while on trek and climbing period. 
Thapa / Dhampus Peak and around Dhaulagiri located on the west of Annapurna and then joining at Annapurna Circuit route rated as world’s 10th best trekking destination, one of the most unique journeys leading from warm subtropical; mediterranean of mid hills to arctic landscapes and climate zone, all these drastic change in temperature found only in Dhaulagiri and Annapurna area, this makes a drastic change in vegetations and its awesome scenery.
This trek leads through many traditional Gurung, Magar and Thakali tribe’s villages with its rich old traditions and culture.
This remarkable trek and climb of Thapa / Dhampus Peak and around Dhaulagiri at 6,012 meters high starts from Beni and towards lower Mustang area and then with a great classic climb on leaving the main trail for few days in complete isolation and wilderness, the climb is taken after acclimatization and well preparations, although the climb is straight forward, requires skill of ice axe, crampons and use of fix ropes along the climb, our expert guide will make the it safe and supporting you all the way to the top summit of Thapa / Dhampus Peak at 6, 012 meters, after a great climb descend towards Mustang region via the high pass of French, Thapa / Dhampus pass at 5,360 & 5,250 meters and slowly with a scenic walk ending this beautiful and awesome trekking at Marpha at lower Mustang near Jomsom the headquarter town of Mustang district and then a short scenic flight to Pokhara city where the high snow capped peaks reflects in its serene lake Phewa.

Day 01:           Arrive at Kathmandu and transfer to respective hotels.
Day 02:           In Kathmandu half day sightseeing tour and trek preparations.
Day 03:           Drive to Beni 940m via Pokhara 860m - 07 hrs journeys
Day 04:           Drive to Darbang 03 hrs and trek to Riverside 1,560m - 04 hrs.
Day 05:           Trek to Jugepani 1,700m - 05 hrs.
Day 06:           Trek to Bagar 2,375m -05 hrs.

Day 17:           Drive to Jomsom 2,715 m- 30 mins.
Day 18:           Fly to Pokhara and transfer to hotel.
Day 19:           Fly or drive to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Day 20:           Transfer to airport for international departure.

Day 01:           Meet in Kathmandu after arrival from international flight.
Rendezvous in Kathmandu where you will be joined with other members of the trekking team on reaching respective hotels, our guide or group leader will brief information regarding your trekking with do’s and don’ts.
Day 02:           In Kathmandu with cultural tour at places of interest.
As per the time set for sightseeing tour, our city guide will meet in the morning after breakfast  and then depart hotel for few hours in our interesting cultural tour of heritage sites as Kathmandu valley is full of world heritage sites, however some of them been damaged from recent earthquake. The  tour of holy Pashupatinath temple, Bouddhanath ( Little Tibet), Swayambhunath ( Monkey Temple) & monasteries, ancient Kings Palaces and courtyard in Kathmandu; after an interesting sightseeing back to the hotel, afternoon free at leisure for Thapa / Dhampus Peak and Dhaulagiri Circuit trek and climb preparation.
Day 03:           Drive to Beni 830m via Pokhara 860m 275 km - 07 hrs.
Starting this wonderful adventure with a morning drive through many interesting towns and farm country on the main Nepal’s highway following the river Trisuli for some time and then heading west towards the famous touristic destination at Pokhara, from here our journey continues further west to reach at a large town of Beni for overnight stop.
Day 04:           Drive to Darbang and trek to Riverside 1,560 m - 05 hrs.
From Beni another short drive on the rough jeep road following Myagdi river passing several small rural farm villages and farm fields to Darbang village, located on route to Dhaulagiri base camp and Dhorpatan to Dolpo area, on reaching at this warm place at Darbang, our  trekking starts from here walking for 3-4  hours following the raging Myagdi river past farm areas to reach our first overnight camp on the grassy field by the river.
 Day 05:          Trek on route Jugepani1,700m - 06 hrs.
After this quaint camping area, morning walk following the river upstream most of the way reaching patch of forest and back on the farm terraces through several isolated farm villages and finally reaching our 2nd campsite near Jugepani where the trail from Mure a big Magar tribe village joins on this remote small village with afternoon free to explore the surrounding area.
Day 06:           Trek to Bagar 2,375m - 06 hrs.
Morning walk leads to winding path through farm terraces following Dhora Khola (stream), on leaving Dhora Khola, a steep climb for few hours with few stops to admire the surrounding landscapes view, and then finally reaching to the top of the ridge, where it leads to a descend through woodlands to reach at Bagar for overnight camp, this will be the last human settlement for many days till Marpha village is reached on the Kaligandaki river valley after a week time.
Day 07:           Trek to Dovan 2,600m – 06 hours.
Today leaving the last village for many days on the trail to complete wilderness in between high snow capped mountains of Dhaulagiri range, morning walk leads past the outskirt of farm land and into forested area, and then with climb for few hours above the Myagdi River, after completing the uphill walk, then a long descend to reach at a lonely hut at Dovan  for overnight camp in the middle of a lovely forest of rhododendron, oaks, magnolia and pines trees.
Day 08:           Trek to Chartare / Bhainsi Kharka 3,000m -05 hrs.
From this isolated place of Dovan with few shades as huts a temporary settlement of cow herders and serving as tea shops for trekkers and porters, morning walk leads to cross an unstable wooden bridge and then on the upper winding path through the dense forest for whole day till Chartare is reached for the overnight camp in the middle of forest in a nice clearing on grassy meadow.
Day 09:           Trek to Pakhaban (Japanese Camp) 3,750 m - 05 hrs.
Morning walk begins with views of Dhaulagiri South West Face and then through the woodlands for few hours reaching an open area of Myagdi valley beneath the towering South West Face of huge peak of Dhaulagiri I, from here onwards end of the vegetation and tree lines heading to remorseless ice fields and glacier with a short climb on the clearing in between snow capped peaks for overnight camp with Myagdi River flowing down below the glacier of Dhaulagiri I and of Tukuche peak, this camp also named after Japanese Expedition camp to Dhaulagiri, from this camp overlooking gorgeous view of Dhaulagiri I West Wall and of Tsaurabong Peak.
Day 10:           Trek to Dhaulagiri Base Camp  4,750m  - 06 hrs.
After a scenic camp morning walk starts with a slow climb towards Dhaulagiri massive glaciers and moraine of huge rocks and boulders with ice, the path is quite difficult to trace so follow our expert guide who have walked this area many times, this strenuous walk leads for few hours in between the huge mountains on both side of this glacial valley, and finally reaching at Dhaulagiri base camp at 4,750 meter for overnight camp, this is one of the highlight of this awesome journey. From the camp world’s 7th highest Mt. Dhaulagiri looks at a mere distance from the camp and views of adjoining west peaks of Dhaulagiri II (7,751 m.), Dhaulagiri III (7,715 m.) and Dhaulagiri IV (7,618 m.) and Dhaulagiri Ice Fall..
Day 11:           Trek to Hidden Valley 4,900m with French Pass 5,360m.
Camping at base camp feeling high spirit in the midst of ice, glaciers and giant peaks, from base camp walk leads to the highest point of this adventure at French pass 5,360 meters before to camp at Hidden Valley, morning walk follows the moraine and ice fields close to the peak of Tukuche, and then with a steep climb on the gravel path at French Col at 5,360 meters, the pass is festooned with many Buddhist prayer flags with views of Sita Chuchura, the mountains of Mukut Himal, and Tashi Kang 5,386 m, Tukuche West Peak and massif Dhaulagiri I. After the great unmatched scenery heading downhill towards the wide open Hidden Valley for overnight camp, this valley remained enclosed behind Dhaulagiri Massif Mountains undiscovered and unexplored till last 30 years, offering stunning view of Sita Chuchura, the mountains of Mukut Himal, and Tashi Kang (5,386 m.), all of which surrounds the Hidden Valley. To the right is Tukche Peak west and to the rear stands the huge Dhaulagiri I. A gentle descent along the snow covered landscape finally leads to a wide Hidden Valley. This Valley remained behind Dhaulagiri massif undiscovered, until last few decades, walk few for another hour to set Dhampus peak base camp.
Day 12:           At Hidden Valley for Thapa /Dhampus Peak base camp.
Preparation for the climb and acclimatization with short hike around rest of the sorting gears for the Big Day!  with rest of the afternoon at leisure.
Day 13:           Trek and climb to high camp 5, 560m 04 hrs.
Morning trek and climb to set up the high camp with grand views along the route afternoon survey the route, while our guide will fix ropes where necessary.
Day 14:           Climb of Thapa / Dhampus Peak and return to base camp.
After being well acclimatize and in sound physical conditions climb Dhampus Peak summit 6,012 meters top with the ultimate support of Himex expert climbing guides using ice axe and crampons, if the weather is fine can be done in a day with great effort and reaching the top of the summit rewarding you with panoramic scenery of the surrounding peaks including Mt. Dhaulagiri massif range towards south, Tukuche peak, Mukut Himal and to the North east views of Annapurna and Manaslu mountain range, after the great ascent and with marvelous views descend by the same route to base camp.
Day 15:           Contingency and Reserve day.
Contingency or reserve day, in case if there's problem or difficulty on route.
If it goes well with the program, can have rest day here to explore around this Hidden Valley, depending upon the weather as well or move to lower camp.
Day 16:           Trek to Trek to Marpha 2,630m via Yak Kharka 4,915m, 06 hrs.
After a wonderful time at Hidden Valley, adventure continues to cross Dhampus Pass at 5,250m. The trek follows on the gradual path for an hour with short climb in between, and it gets narrow on the scree section for an hour, then towards the high traverse across Dhampus Pass at 5,250m overlooking the deep cleft of the Kali Gandaki Valley and the Annapurna peaks beyond. On reaching the top ridge at Dhampus Pass, view of Mukut Himal is visible from the pass as the Hidden Valley is being over looked behind the Col. It’s a steep downhill along the rock covered mountain side until to the campsite at Yak Kharka.  Yak Kharka, a summer pasture, Dhaulagiri I is hidden by the bulk of Tukuche Peak, but Nilgiris and the western end of the Annapurna massif are visible.
From here walk leads towards a steep down along the narrow mountain path up to a ridge from where Dhaulagiri I and the Tukche Peak become visible again. Today follow the path in the left banks along the Kali Gandaki River up to Marpha Village, following the winding mountain trail that goes downwards to the right side and crossing a stream to reach a little settlement of Alubari with some numbers of small stone huts. Winding around further and keeping still to the right, descend a steep zig-zagging along the narrow mountain side. The final descent, eventually reaches to the center of the village of Marpha for the overnight stop, one of the most charming villages on this route, famous for its apple and its product.
Day 17:           Drive to Jomsom 2,715m 30 mins.
From Marpha 30 minutes brings to the large town at Jomsom the headquarter district of Mustang area, afternoon free at leisure.
Day 18:           Drive or fly back to Pokhara.
In Jomsom as per the flight time which is early morning due to the heavy afternoon winds, transfer to Jomsom airport for a short flight to Pokhara with awesome views during this 22 minutes flight, in Pokhara transfer to respective hotels for overnight near picturesque Phewa lake with great views of Annapurna Himalaya range and Mt. Machhapuchhre at 6,997 meters high reflecting at Lake Phewa in the morning time, Pokhara an amazing place and popular tourist haven.
(For those who wish driving options an interesting drive on winding dirt road till Beni passing many nice towns and villages of Marpha, Ghasa, Tatopani and to Beni before Pokhara takes nearly 5-6 hours of drive.)
Day 19:           Drive of fly back to Kathmandu.
Morning a scenic drive to Kathmandu, after a wonderful memorable trip in the mid hills of Annapurna area,  then on reaching Kathmandu transfer to respective hotels with afternoon free at leisure.
(Options to fly back to Kathmandu our staff will transfer you to Pokhara domestic airport for 30 minutes scenic flight to Kathmandu, on reaching Kathmandu meet our staff and then transfer back to respective hotels).
Day 20:           International departure for home ward bound.
After a great memorable time and experience with Solukhumbu Treks & Expedition, depart from the hotel to the airport for final departure homeward bound or to respective destinations.
