Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu and transfer to respective hotels.
Day 02: Morning sightseeing tour, afternoon flight to Nepalgunj.
Day 03: Fly to Simikot 2,910m & trek to Dharapuri 2,600 m -03 hrs.
Day 04: Trek to Sally Khola 2,690 m -05 hrs.
Day 05: Trek to Muchu 2,920 m -05 hrs.
Day 06: Trek to Torea 3,380m - 04 hrs.
Day 07: Trek to Sip-Sip 3,800 m via Muchu - 05 hours.
Day 08: Trek to Hilsa 3,720m via Nara Lagna - 06 hours.
Day 09: Trek to Manepeme 3,990 m - 05 hrs.
Day 10: Trek to Til 4000 m - 06 hrs.
Day 11: Trek to Halji 3,660 m - 03 hrs.
Day 12: Trek to Jang 3,930 m -04 hrs.
Day 13: Trek to Talung 4,370 m - 08 hrs.
Day 14: Trek to Shinjungma 3,620 m via Nyalu La 4,949 m - 08 hrs.
Day 15: Trek to Kermi 2,670 m - 07 hrs.
Day 16: Trek to Simikot 2,950 m - 06 hrs.
Day 17: Fly to Nepalgunj and to Kathmandu.
Day 18: In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour at places of interest.
Day 19: International departure to respective countries.
Day 01: Meet in Kathmandu after arrival from international flight.
Rendezvous in Kathmandu where you will be joined with other members of the trekking team on reaching respective hotels, our guide or group leader will brief information regarding your trekking with do’s and don’ts.
Day 02: Morning cultural tour and fly to Nepalgunj.
As per the time set for sightseeing tour, our city guide will meet in the morning after breakfast and then depart hotel for few hours in our interesting cultural tour of heritage sites as Kathmandu valley is full of world heritage sites, however some of them been damaged from recent earthquake. The tour of holy Pashupatinath temple, Bouddhanath ( Little Tibet), Swayambhunath ( Monkey Temple) & monasteries, ancient Kings Palaces and courtyard in Kathmandu; after an interesting sightseeing back to the hotel, afternoon flight to Nepalgunj transfer to domestic airport for a scenic flight to Nepalgunj with awesome mountain panorama views on this 55 minutes flight to Nepalgunj, on reaching Nepalgunj our staff will transfer you to respective hotels with time in the afternoon to visit around the Nepalgunj town situated on the south-west Nepal close to border of India, and it’s quite tropical in nature.
Day 03: Fly to Simikot 2,910m & trek to Dharapuri 2,600 m - 04 hrs.
From the hotel transfer to Nepalgunj airport for the morning flight to Simikot, which takes about 40 minutes, with mountain panorama along this scenic flight, on reaching at Simikot which is the headquarter town of Humla district, offering stunning views of Mt Api and Saipal peaks.
Simikot a moderate size town located on a ridge high above Humla Karnali River with fabulous scenery over the deep valley.
Here at Simikot our field and trekking crews will meet for a half day walk to the first overnight camp at Dharapuri village, walk begins after leaving Simikot town, leading a short climb through farm fields of barley then on a forested ridge descending and passing several villages to Dharapuri for first overnight camping.
Dharpori a small farm village, this far west region inhabited mostly by Thakuri Hindu people, this tribe been trading with Tibet for hundred of years using the same trail that we will be following the route near to Tibet border after 5-6 days walk.
Day 04: Trek to Sally-Khola 2,690 m near Kermi village - 05 hrs.
Morning After a nice stay at Dharapuri village, journey continues leading to a gradual climb, and across a slope terrain to a stream reaching the last village of Thakuri peoples and the end of rice fields and paddies, as rice are grown only below 2,000 meters or little above depending upon the climatic conditions and water irrigation facilities, walking on ups and down trail to a Sheppard’s grazing area and Sally – Khola ( stream) near a beautiful waterfall, where our overnight camping is set, just a mere distance from Kermi village, place with hot springs nearby a walk uphill for an hour.
Day 05: Trek to Muchu 2,920 m - 05 hrs.
Morning starts with an uphill walk through a Yangar village near a river here the path is paved and built with rocks and woods and then reaching a suspension bridge to cross over Humla Karnali River and with a climb to a stream past apricot garden area and finally reaching Muchu village our overnight camp, this small village with an old monastery and a border Police Post.
Day 06: Trek to Torea 3,380m -04 hrs.
After a nice stay at Muchu, our journey leads to a descend towards Thumkot village, after a break then climbing away from the river leaving the Humla-Karnali River behind and walking into a steep-sided narrow gorge.
From here a long hour trek leading slowly to a climb from Bumchiya Khola valley gorge to reach at Torea for overnight camp, with afternoon free
at leisure to catch up with the dairy and short walk around.
Day 07: Trek to Sip-Sip 3,800 m - 05 hours.
The altitude gains higher as our journey progress and the morning walk continues with a climb on a small ridge at 3,500 meters, and then countering the top ridge offering a grand vista of Yari valley area and of distance high snow capped peaks, from here walk leads by an irrigation canal to a large wide valley of Jhyakthang chu this place marked with Buddhist prayer walls.
From here a gradual climb towards a moderate size village of Yari, built with stone, this village with another police post, government custom office and a school around this nice Yari village, the farmlands with terraces yielding sufficient crops growing millets, barley, amaranth (Marcia) wheat, buckwheat’s, potatoes and radishes. After a nice stop here walk continues with a climb on this wide valley, then encountering group of traders, pilgrims and pack animals-goats, sheep’s and yaks, then reaching to Sip-Sip a small settlement of cattle herders with few shops, our camp is set near a stream at the bottom of Nara Lagna pass.
Day 08: Trek to Hilsa 3,720m via Nara Lagna - 06 hours.
From this camp starting the morning walk with a climb leading to an uphill to a ridge with huge rock atop at Nara Lagna pass at 5,000 m / 15,030ft, the highest spot of this great wonderful journey, from the top offering grand panorama of Tibetan plateau with Humla Karnali River down below and the green barley fields of Sher or Sera and distance views of snow capped peaks of Api and Saiphal, after a pleasant stop atop the pass walk leads downhill on the dusty trail to Humla Karnali River.
Then walking along the river towards our overnight stop at Hilsa village, border and a frontier post with few tents and stone houses surrounded with barley fields, just across the bridge near this village there is a stone pillar marking Nepal-Tibet border.
Day 09: Trek to Manepeme 3, 990 m - 05 hrs.
After being a mere distance from Nepal / Tibet border our walk leads back to Simikot on an alternative route visiting mystical high land villages, morning walk leads crossing on an iron bridge to the other banks of the river, then walking on the trail over a slope following Karnali River towards east on the road to Manepeme village, walk leads to a gradual climb with few short ups and downs in this dramatic landscape surrounding of barren, steep rocks in spectacular colors and slowly walk reaches at Manepeme village our overnight camp in this small settlement of few houses.
Day 10: Trek to Til 4, 000 m - 06 hrs.
Morning walk leads to a gentle uphill climb into a small path, then on almost flat ground for a while with a steep climb onto a narrow path leading to Ya Yip Phuk with an interesting meditation cave.
This cave regarded as holy around 985-1055 A.D. a supreme guru Lotsawa Rinchen Sangpo and a great translator of Tibetan Buddhist scriptures, he was the person with an important and crucial change in reviving cultural exchange between India and Tibet by protecting and paving the Buddhism religion of second dissemination in Tibet.
From here walking for another hour towards the top of Lamka La pass at 4,300 meters, after enjoying the great scenic panorama of mountains and valleys, then on the downhill walk to our overnight camp at Til village, this small village with a monastery and various interesting stupas offering fabulous views of distance snow capped mountains.
Day 11: Trek to Halji 3, 660 m - 03 hrs.
After this nice small Til village, morning starts with a descend to Limi River then on the pleasant gentle trail, with beautiful surrounding scenery and an opportunity of spotting some endangered wildlife like herd of blue sheep’s and mountain goats and the rare elusive snow leopards and other wild animals and birds.
From here a good walk of few hours reaching at Halji village for overnight camping, this serene village with an important old monastery known as Rinchenling Gompa built around 14th century, belonging to Kagyugpa Sect of Tibetan Buddhism, this pretty village has a medical clinic, a micro hydro power plant and solar plant built by Nepal Trust Foundation.
After the camp is set having lunch, afternoon free to explore in and around this village area.
Day 12: Trek to Jang 3,930 m - 04 hrs.
Today a short nice trek of four hours to our next camping stop at Jang village, morning walk follows along the Limi Khola (stream) after enjoying this nice pleasant walk overlooking picturesque surrounding scenery and then finishing the day’s walk at Jang, this is the last and third village within Limi Valley area, afternoon at leisure with short excursion around this small interesting authentic Tibetan village of Limi Valley.
Day 13: Trek to Talung 4,370 m - 08 hrs.
A long day walk today after leaving this last village within Limi Valley area, starting the morning walk follows on barren and arid, windswept hill slopes with striking views of dry landscapes and then on the gradual path, leading towards a green valley with temporary cattle herders settlement for grazing animals, our overnight camp will be set within this beautiful valley.
Day 14: Trek to Shinjungma 3, 620 m via Nyalu La 4,940 m - 08 hrs.
From this camp with another day of long walk towards the last high pass of this wonderful adventure, starting our fresh morning walk with a steep climb at 4,940 meters atop of Nyalu La pass, this spot can lead to quite adventurous walk sometimes in snow and ices conditions making the path slippery, after a stop on the pass looking around awesome beautiful scenery of Limi valley, and of Tibet plateau with views of holy Mount Kailash at 6,714 m and Mount Saipal 7,031 m with and range of other distance snowcapped mountains.
Enjoying the great amazing vista from the pass, then our walk leading to a descend to Selma Tso a glacial lake at 4,630 meter, from here walk continues following the Salli River all the way to Shinjungma for overnight camp on the grassy meadow, this is a summer pasture for yaks and other cattle’s of local nearby villagers.
Day 15: Trek back to Kermi 2,670 m - 07 hrs.
Today walk leads back to human settlement and villages, after being in complete isolation and in wilderness for several days, morning walk leads on a long downhill slopes with pleasant walking back into tree lines through enchanting pine and birch forests and along Salli Khola trail, after hours of good walk, the path joins at Karnali River and then leading east towards Kermi village for our overnight camp with ample time for a visit in the hot springs.
Day 16: Trek back to Simikot 2, 950 m- 06 hrs.
This awesome adventure slowly comes to an end at Simikot, starting the last day walk of this trip with an uphill climb to Darapuri at 2,300 meters and Majgaon at 2,290 meters. From Majgaon a long climb uphill for two hours towards Karnali River and to a small pass of over 3,000 meters; from the top with great vista of surrounding hills and valleys and of Mt. Api and Saiphal peaks, walking on the easy downhill trail to complete this last day trek at Simikot for the last night stop in the Far North West Nepal.
Day 17: Fly to Kathmandu via Nepalgunj and transfer to hotel.
After completing this awesome journey, taking a morning a scenic short flight to Nepalgunj looking over the western Himalayan chain of mountains, then on reaching at Nepalgunj depending upon the time for connecting flight to Kathmandu, with few hours for refreshment in the comfort of the hotel at Nepalgunj, then with back to airport to continue flight to Kathmandu, on arrival at Kathmandu domestic terminal, our Solukhumbu Treks & Expedition staff will receive and transfer you to respective hotels after a grand memorable time with an experience of a life time in the Far West Nepal Himalaya.
Day 18: In Kathmandu with cultural tour at places of interest.
This day reserved a free day in case of flight delay in Jumla due to bad weather conditions, and one can join for sightseeing tour at leisure, depart hotel for few hours in our interesting cultural tour of heritage sites as Kathmandu valley is full of world heritage sites, however some of them been damaged from recent earthquake.
The tour of holy Pashupatinath temple, Bouddhanath ( Little Tibet), Swayambhunath ( Monkey Temple) & monasteries, ancient Kings Palaces and courtyard in Kathmandu; after an interesting sightseeing back to the hotel, afternoon free at leisure for individual activities.
Day 19: International departure for home ward bound.
After a great memorable time and experience with Solukhumbu Treks & Expedition, depart from the hotel to the airport for final departure homeward bound or to respective destinations.
